IT IS VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ALWAYS RUN THE 最新的 SERVER VERSION, AND 最新的 PLUGIN JAR FILES.
Most projects are now multi-version, meaning 最新的 versions of plugins support older Minecraft versions multiple back. For all back-supported Minecraft versions, the 最新的 Minecraft sub-version is preferred. So, for Minecraft 1.12, the specific server version to use is 1.12.2, as that is the 最新的 sub-version of Minecraft 1.12.
Multi-supported Minecraft 最新的 sub-versions:
- 1.8.8 - If you use 1.8 see this page for relevant information: Minecraft 1.8 Servers
- 1.9.4 - This version is quite outdated and not necessarily supported in all projects.
- 1.10.2 - This version is relatively outdated but usually is supported.
- 1.11.2 - This version is somewhat outdated but generally is supported.
- 1.12.2 - This is a current version and is considered a stable support target.
- 1.13.1 - This version is very new at time of writing and is generally supported but there may be some bugs present.
